Significance
Collector components created for the Japanese special edition, representing Engage’s central theme of bringing heroes from across Fire Emblem history into a single game.
Summary
Fire Emblem Engage is a tactical role-playing game for Nintendo Switch built around the Emblems: legendary heroes drawn from earlier Fire Emblem games.
The Japanese Elyos Collection was the game’s premium physical edition, containing the game, art book, A1 poster, SteelBook and 12 Emblem art cards. The example documented here consists specifically of the SteelBook and complete card set with its presentation box.
The twelve cards feature Marth, Celica, Sigurd, Leif, Roy, Lyn, Eirika, Ike, Micaiah, Lucina, Corrin and Byleth, representing multiple generations of the series.
Release & Version Details
Released alongside the game on 20 January 2023, the Japanese Elyos Collection originally retailed for ¥10,978.
The SteelBook features the principal Engage cast on its exterior, with the twelve Emblem symbols arranged in a circular design on the reverse. The cards were supplied together in their own illustrated presentation box.
Why It’s Significant
Fire Emblem Engage deliberately draws upon the history of the series through its returning Emblem characters. The SteelBook and cards physically document this central concept, bringing together heroes spanning several generations of Fire Emblem.
Preservation Notes
The SteelBook is susceptible to scratches, edge wear and dents, while the individual cards can easily become separated from their original 12-card set. Retaining all twelve cards together with their presentation box is therefore particularly desirable for preservation.
These components represent only part of the original Elyos Collection; a complete edition also requires the game, art book, A1 poster and collector’s outer packaging.
