Summary

Released in Japan on 18 February 2010, Uncharted Twin Pack (アンチャーテッド TWIN PACK) combines the first two entries in Naughty Dog’s acclaimed action-adventure series into a single retail package. It was launched shortly after the enormous success of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, allowing new players to experience Nathan Drake’s story from the beginning. 

Unlike later Western Dual Pack releases, the Japanese edition features an exclusive metallic gold outer slipcase with embossed lettering and artwork depicting Nathan Drake. Inside are two separate retail game cases: the PlayStation 3 the Best edition of Drake’s Fortune alongside the standard release of Among Thieves.

Why It’s Significant

Rather than simply bundling two games together, Uncharted Twin Pack represents Sony’s effort to capitalise on the critical success of Uncharted 2 while introducing new Japanese players to the series’ origins. The premium presentation gives the compilation a collector’s appeal beyond its practical purpose.

Among PlayStation 3 collectors, it is particularly sought after because the packaging differs substantially from equivalent releases in Europe and North America, making it one of the most distinctive physical editions of the early Uncharted series.

Preservation Notes

• The metallic slipcase is highly susceptible to scuffs, scratches and corner wear.
• Many surviving copies are missing the outer sleeve, reducing completeness.
• Ensure both original game cases are present, as copies are sometimes assembled from separate retail releases.
• The embossed finish can show fingerprints and rubbing over time, so careful storage is recommended.
