EXIT TUNES PRESENTS THE BEST OF Dios/Signal-P is a compilation album celebrating the work of Vocaloid producer Dios (Signal-P), one of the early creators responsible for helping establish Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len as major Vocaloid characters. Released by Exit Tunes in September 2011, the album collects many of Signal-P’s most recognisable songs spanning several Vocaloid voicebanks including Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Hatsune Miku, GUMI, Megurine Luka and KAITO.

The collection includes fan favourites such as Cendrillon, Rin Rin Signal, Transmit, Enclosure, Aitai and CHU! Shite!, together with a newly written track and two bonus recordings featuring vocalist Mayumi Morinaga. Rather than focusing solely on Kagamine Rin and Len, the album showcases the breadth of Signal-P’s work across multiple Vocaloid characters while highlighting the melodic style that made him one of the scene’s most recognisable producers. 

Illustration was provided by Tama, whose artwork became closely associated with several Exit Tunes Vocaloid releases during this period. Like many first-print Exit Tunes albums, it was accompanied by collectible promotional extras intended to appeal to dedicated fans.

Release & Version Details

This release was issued on 21 September 2011 by Exit Tunes under catalogue number QWCE-00196.

The standard first-print edition included:

• Audio CD
• Illustrated booklet
• Original phone strap (commonly described by collectors as a keyring or strap accessory)
• Smartphone / IC card Yupo sticker featuring Tama’s artwork
• Promotional application postcard in some first-print copies
• Selected retailers also distributed a large B2 promotional poster while stocks lasted. 

The album contains 17 tracks, including two bonus recordings performed by Mayumi Morinaga and Sekihan, making this more than a simple greatest hits compilation. 

Collectors often distinguish complete first-print copies by the presence of the sealed strap and original sticker, as these bonuses were frequently separated from used copies over time.

Why It’s Significant

This release marks Signal-P’s first major-label retrospective and captures the producer at the height of the early Vocaloid boom. By 2011, songs such as Cendrillon and Aitai had accumulated millions of online plays and become staples of the Vocaloid community, making this compilation a snapshot of one of the era’s defining composers. 

The album also reflects Exit Tunes’ role in bringing internet-born Vocaloid music into mainstream Japanese retail through professionally produced CDs with exclusive packaging and collector bonuses.

For Kagamine Rin & Len collectors, it represents one of the most important commercial releases associated with Signal-P, whose compositions played a significant role in shaping the characters’ early musical identity.

Preservation Notes

• The original phone strap/keyring is frequently missing from second-hand copies.
• The bonus Yupo sticker is often removed or discarded, making complete copies less common.
• Promotional postcards and retailer-exclusive posters were distributed separately and are rarely retained.
• As with many early 2010s jewel cases, cracked cases are common but easily replaced; the original booklet and obi are more significant for preservation.
• Verify the catalogue number QWCE-00196 and the inclusion of the first-print bonuses when identifying complete copies.
